NCEA Assessments for Essential Workers - message from Rachel Scott, Principal's Nominee for NZQA

Good morning everyone
I am aware that some of our students are Front Line workers in Essential Services.  I want to thank all those students who are continuing to work with the public to ensure that Essential Services are still being provided to the community.  We might think of our students as children who need to be protected, but they are stepping up and taking important roles as the young adults they are.  I commend them for their strong sense of social responsibility and thank them for the work they are doing for all of us.
Any students who are working to keep Essential Services running have an automatic extension for any and all NCEA assignments they are currently undertaking. I am aware that even though the school holidays are coming early, this does not necessarily give those working students any extra time to study.  Students who are in this category should let their teachers and/or me know.  If these students want to keep working on NCEA assessments then they should do so, but if they cannot do so until we are all back at school we will ensure they have the same opportunities.
Any questions or queries please don't hesitate to contact me on [email protected]
Stay safe,
Rachel Scott
Principal's Nominee for NZQA
