Visual Arts - Arts - Curriculum - Te Aroha College

Dsc 1296

Visual Arts connect mind, heart, body, and spirit as students learn to express their thoughts, feelings, ideas, and actions in the development and creation of visual art works. Through studying and making art works, students respond to and make sense of themselves and their community, their society and the world.

Arts Festival and Extravaganza

The Arts Festival is a wonderful evening when our creative students have the chance to be applauded by our community for their talent and creativity. We display junior and senior prints, paintings and photography. We show short films, short docos, music videos and magazine features created by Media Studies students. We grace the stage with our inspiring musicians, actors, dancers and singers. Our hospitality students provide supper and showcase their cooking and baking skill.

Extravaganza is Te Aroha College’s answer to “NZs Got Talent”. This is a chance for individual , groups and school houses - Tainui. Tokomaru, Aotea and Arawa - to grab some of the limelight. Capably organised by the Student Council, this evening is always well attended and heaps of fun. Musicians, singers, dancers, magicians, jugglers, comedians, and actors - see yourself in lights at the Extravaganza!
