Year 10 Maths - Mathematics - Curriculum - Te Aroha College

In Year 10 the mathematical concepts developed at Year 9 are revisited and extended upon. Year 10 students should be demonstrating proficiency at level 5 of the New Zealand Curriculum. The 3 strands of Number and Algebra, Geometry and Measurement, and Statistics are covered during the year.
 
Emphasis is placed on problem solving.as well as preparing students for NCEA Level 1. This means developing strategies for solving multi step problems and explaining the processes used with clarity using correct mathematical statements..
 
Real and relevant contexts are used to actively engage students in the learning process
