English NCEA Level Two

English NCEA Level Two - English - Curriculum - Te Aroha College

English at year 12 at Te Aroha College is compulsory. Students choose between two programmes for English this year- academic or independent.
 
The academic programme at year 12 is for students who wish to sit NCEA formal exams at the end of the year. They will also complete internally assessed Achievement Standards during the year as well. Students can gain up to 12 external credits, and will work towards approximately 12 internal credits. The independent programme at Year 12 is for students who want to attain their credits through internal assessments alone. This course involves research assignments and independent reading/viewing assessments.
