Year 10 English

Year 10 English - English - Curriculum - Te Aroha College

In Year 10 English, learners advance their understanding of the various English strands and work towards curriculum level 5. Students take part in a broad programme which develops their engagement and knowledge in various visual and verbal texts. They learn to apply this understanding in various forms. Students also advance their written language skills through regular vocabulary, punctuation, grammar and spelling tasks.

Students are tested at the beginning and end of the year using e-Asttle to establish studentsÂ’ prior learning and progress through the year. Students have additional assessments each term, based on the text they are studying. They also sit formal exams at the end of the year, to help them prepare for the NCEA experience at Year 11.
