Students engage in a general programme which enriches their vocabulary, introduces new written and visual texts and gives multiple opportunities for reading and writing, and assessing against the curriculum.  Students are tested at the beginning and end of the year using e-Asttle to establish studentsÂ’ prior learning and progress through the year. Students have additional assessments each term, based on the text they are studying. They also sit formal exams at the end of the year, to help them prepare for the NCEA experience in later years.
